Critter Packs
After being swamped with orders when we introduced these last year, we have increased our production systems significantly. However, to avoid being overwhelmed, we are limiting the public distribution of these refugium critter packs to only 10 per week. If there is a wait list, we will let you know at the time of your order, or you may contact us before your order to see if a delay is expected.

Let Nature Keep your Marine Aquarium Clean and Healthy.
If you have been looking to add some serious oomph to your clean-up crew, or give your sand bed or refugium some needed diversity, look no further. This is your opportunity to get some of the most beneficial organisms available for a marine tank. Best of all, these organisms are aquacultured in fish-free systems, so they will arrive in excellent health, accustomed to spending their whole life in aquariums, and most importantly, will be free of the parasites that wild-caught specimens may carry. And because they are aquacutured, no organisms will have been taken from the reefs. These organisms have been selected to fulfill overlapping and complementary cleaning duties that will leave your sandbed healthy and clean. In most healthy aquariums, they will continue to breed and will adjust their populations to the level of pollution in your tank. ALL Species Offered Here Are Reef Safe.

*SPECIAL* You can add on a 10 pack of 10+ polyp zoanthid frags (our choice) for just $75.00 and we will upgrade you to Express shipping for free!

All in all, you will receive at least 9 species of organisms including the macro, and we love to toss in freebies!

We ship USPS priority in insulated boxes with free heat/cool packs if needed, in Kordon Breather Bags (when appropriate) and guarantee at least 90% survival. We take every precaution to ensure the health and safety of our animals, but realize there can be an occasional casualty along the way, so we always try to pack extra. If you do experience a loss, please let us know as soon as possible, and we will work out replacement arrangements with you.

Included in the package
12 miniature brittle stars from at least 2-3 species. These little critters are the heart of any good sandbed maintenance system. You will receive a small (1/2 inch long arms) white species that will quickly take to your sand and rockwork and scavenge every little nook and cranny with its slender arms. In addition, you will receive a species we have been developing for years and now have released for public sale. This is a larger species with arms that reach about 1 in length. This is a more active feeder and will cruise the reef collecting small particles of uneaten food. Besides the cleaning power of this ophiuroid, what makes it so special is the red bands along the arms that give it an especially attractive appearance.

10 Nassarius vibex snails. These are great sand cleaning machines. They burrow through the sand keeping it aerated and clean and will reproduce in many captive situations. These are NOT the Ilyanassa obsoleta species. While those may work in some situations, they are generally considered unsuitable for most marine tanks and are a poor substitute for the omnivorous Nassarius snails.

10 each spaghetti worms and small bristle worms. These are absolutely the best cleaners and scavengers around and are safe with all corals. We know that while most people love the bristle worms, they are not everybody’s cup of tea, so if you would prefer not to get bristle worms with your order, let us know when you order and we will substitute extras of other species for you.

Amphipods and Copepods – at least 10 amphipods and 50+ copepods in a clump of macro. Usually many more. Good little cleaners, and when there are enough in a tank, fish love to snack on them.

6+ algae eating snails. All aquacultured also. Usually a mix of Strombus, Ceriths and Trochus or a warm water species Tegula.
